1937 Buick Special Series 40 A brief description.Beautiful Rootbeer Copper Metallic paint job, that was done by a professional painter. Near perfect Body that appears to be the original metal to the car,(as seen in videos).Body seems around car are straight and appear to be all adjust properly to one another. Door’s, trunk and hood aline and open smooth and properly. Quality craftsman shift performed on this interior that is in like new condition. seats, door panels, headliner, carpet and dash are Beautifully finished off,(as seen in video’s). I have looked buick over in the air on the lift and have seen no visible rust or patch panels work etc. Car undercarriage is in like new original condition, painted and very clean and perioral. No undercoating to hide anything. structurally sound. Possibly the original exhaust system which is seamless from the down pipe, through the muffler, to the tailpipe, it is one continuous exhaust system, no weld’s.. very rare to see still in such great condition and not replaced. I also inspected the front end as well, is in new condition, greased and functioning properly. Brakes are also in proper working order. The original enginePowering this buick is an inline overhead valve Eight-cylinder engine 248ci, offered 100 horsepower. It had a three-speed sliding gear transmission with floor shift controls and a single dry plate clutch and shaft drive. The car rode on pressed steel wheels and braking was handled by four-wheel hydraulic drums. straight 8 fires right of with push of the starter button. I would say Engine has been completely rehauled at some point in time. very Clean and fresh under hood. Runs great and as expected for this time period engine as seen in video’s. These ohv motor were designed for a higher speed capability than it’s competitor in its time. Thus making for better quality and an enjoyably every day driver. Exterior chrome is in great shape and intact,(as seen in video’s). Unfortunately i do not have any of the past history or time frame of who did this wonderful restoration, sorry. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. I have taken lots of additional photos and videos of car starting and driving to help you in making a clear buying discussion. I have also taken a video on what few cosmetic finishes still need to be completed to be 100%. Again if interest please do not hesitate to call and we can chat.
