This is a 1970 Buick Estate station wagon , with what my uncle thought was the original mileage 46,637 mile on the odometer , my uncle said this car ran and drove good when he parked it 30 years ago in a old farm barn of his so it is a true barn find car . He had thoughts of restoring it and just never got to it , it was last on the road in 1979 . The north Carolina sticker is still on the window from when he bought it , he has since lost the paper work for it so we don't have the registration for it . The whole car in complete as it was back in the day unmolested unaltered right down to the factory Buick 8 Track player . Also it has the 455 -4 370hp buick engine that produced 510 ft lb. of torque and has the 400 turbo transmission . Back in the day this car was have said when they were factory new to turn the quarter mile in 16.2 sec. 0-60 in 7.6 seconds 0-100 in 8.9 seconds and it got 12.7 miles per gallon highway miles and 10.5 mpg city which in this big car is pretty good all the way around . The car has options like Factory installed 8 track player that says Buick across the front , am/fm factory radio , air conditioning AC , power windows/ locks , power brakes , power steering , disc brakes , climate control temperature control , rear tail gate that opens both down and side ways , and has the famouse way back fold up seat that folds down into the back floor and when folded up faces out the back window . For the most part the car is in great shape for its age , the rocker panels are solid , there are some rust spots . The spare tire half round on the bottom is rusted out somewhat . The front floors are rusted out in toward the middle , the back floors have a couple of rust spots but not real bad . The drivers fender is rusted out behind the front tire , the battery box is rusted out . The bottoms of the doors are still pretty solid and all the doors close nice with out even closing them hard . The interior is in great shape for its age , all complete right down to the ash trays knobes and dash switchs . All the door panels are nice and complete , the front driver seat lower is ripped and torn the rest look to be nice . The inside panel is off the rear tail gate and is laying in the back . pictured are a pile of parts my uncle had bought to begin restoring the car . The front lower supports that go toward the front bumper look like they have been rewelded , my uncle thought the car was in a front end accident at some point and the car was fixed and repaired before he got it . We did put a battery in it and got it to turn over , but we have not started it . The dome lights came on and the dash lit up like it would run if tinkered with a little more . Again we don't have the paper work for it . This is Truly like the Family Truckster That the Griswalds took on there trip to wally world right down to the wood grain sides trim .
