1999 E36 BMW M3 Convertible with some issues. This was my daughters car through high school and college and shows it. I'll start off with all the issues that I know about. THE BAD- Convertible top mechanism is out of adjustment and the boot lid is not closing all the way down and sealing. It visually looks closed but if it rains heavily water gets in. Cloth convertible top itself needs replaced and it has no headliner and the header panel is cracked. Hardtop needs painted to match car and it also has no headliner as it was sagging so badly we just pulled it off. Also when I bought the hardtop I installed the factory mounting kit but not the wiring for the dome light, I have the harness it just needs installed. Front bumper cover looks ok but it has several cracks inside and it's kind of loose, she drove it that way for years but I would replace it. Outside temperature sensor is missing. A small area of rust bubbles about the size of a quarter by the rear license plate (see picture). No dents in body (or hardtop) but there are several scrapes and scratches. Front hood supports need replaced. LED information screen needs replaced. Front hood badge is in poor shape. We suspect somebody backed into it in a parking lot as the rear bumper cover doesn't look right near the rear wheels, there is a bit of a gap so maybe it just needs adjusting. There is no visible damage to the bumper itself though. All four wheels have curb rash and I think it has at least three different brands of tires on it (although they are all in good condition). Drivers side door lock is very hard to turn with the key, I assume it just needs lubricated. Has the upgraded stereo but it sounds like crap because at least the major speakers are blown it not all of them. I know there will be other small issues but those are the ones I am aware of. THE GOOD- just replaced the steering rack as the old one was leaking. Recent front discs replaced, belts replaced. It has a hardtop which are difficult to come by. Body is solid except for that rust spot, no accident damage, interior is in decent shape, she did manage to keep up with oil changes and always full synthetic, it runs and shifts like a champ, pretty low mileage for the year, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it as my daily driver. It NEVER let her down. And I'm selling it cheap because I know it needs A LOT of attention. I don't want whoever buys this complaining about 'this was broken, this is missing..' etc. Treat it like its a project car, it needs, and deserves, a lot of work and I imagine more than a little money invested in it and I know you will come across more things than I have listed that need fixed. It's been sitting in my way since she graduated in May and I just want it gone. Restore it, part it out, make a track-day car out of it I don't care, just be aware it needs a ton of work to be perfect. As is, where is, I can meet within 50 miles of Indianapolis but otherwise it is on you to set up shipping or picking it up. Deposit due immediately on clicking the BuyItNow.

Offered for sale is our test mule, a 1994 BMW 5 series that started life as a 540 and is now converted to OBDI on an S52 M Roadster engine. The car is offered for sale as a project, but will later be parted out if not sold as a unit. Features of significance: S52 engine converted to OBDI with 100,000 miles of service recordsOur custom #7 aluminum radiator and fan setup (~$1000 if purchased new from us.)Yellow European foglightsEuro high beam lights with yellow bulb4.10 limited slip differentialIn-dash CD playerEuropean 3 spoke steering wheel with small air bagKeyless entry Note: 4L30E is beginning to fail. There is residual body from an accident - see pics. Driveshaft hanger bearing will need to be replaced. Windshield is pitted. The body has 200,000+ miles, but much of the steering and suspension has been replaced. We have driven the car about 110,000 miles and performed adequate service. Records are available to the buyer. We are moving to an e39 test vehicle, so this one has to go. It could be a fun project for someone or a parts donor for an e30 twin cam conversion. It's been a great car for us.
