Performance wise, this little rocket is spot on. The car is super quick and the shifting action is fluent and smooth. The car comes with books, manuals, and two keys. The BMW M Roadster was designed to be the performance version of the BMW Z3, and there were significant differences between the two variants. The body of the M Roadster had many slight differences. These included front and rear bumpers, gills, rear wings, boot and mirrors. Under the skin many of the components were beefed up. Many of them were taken from the E30 M3 and E36 M3 Evo, including brakes and much of the suspension. The M Roadster could run a wider track under the flared wheel arches as well as wider wheels and tires to try to tame the increased power. The low offset of the rear wheels allows plenty of flexibility to increase the rear tire width. A dual exhaust system fed each set of three cylinders to two dual tailpipes. This quad exhaust has since become an BMW M division signature. Other changes included adding a limited slip differential, a different gearbox and strengthening the chassis. The interior had a different look to the standard Z3, starting with the M-version steering wheel and including different instrumentation such as an oil temperature gauge. Finally, the car was available in M-specific colors which were not released for the regular Z3, at least in the early production years. I am listing this 2005 BMW 330i Sedan for a friend who owned this car for a few years before the check engine light came on. He took it in for repairs and was quoted from $1500 - $2500 to repair it. He opted to just park it in the garage after the tags expired, as you cannot get the tags renewed here in GA with the check engine light on. He drove the vehicle daily for about 6 months after the light came on, so it may not be as serious as the mechanics around here might make it seem. The car has been parked for several months, and needed a jump to get started. It ran a bit rough on startup, and the temperature gauge was rising slowly. He mentioned that he did have the radiator replaced not too long before the light came on, so it may have something to do with the cooling system. Driving it long distances is not recommended in its current state. As you can see in the photos, it has paint peeling on the fenders and the front bumper. The driver door interior trim is torn as you can see in the photos. The rest of the interior is in pretty good shape. It will need some work, but the car has potential. Anyone who knows his way around a BMW could probably get it fixed for a lot less than he was quoted. Working on getting the engine code readings - please check the auction often for updates.
