1991 BMW M5 with 106k miles on the odo. This rebuild cost $8500 plus shipping. Displacement was increased by about 200 cc to 3.7 liters by boring and stroking the engine. The car has a Dinan chip and current horsepower should be in the 360 to 370 range. At the same time, a new clutch kit, exhaust cam gear and thermostat were installed. The mileage on the car at the time of the engine upgrade was 62,000. The engine has now 46k trouble free miles since the rebuild. As you may or may not know, the 91s came with a 3.91:1 final drive instead of the taller final drive (3.73:1) of the later cars. This also enhances the acceleration of the car compared to later versions. This was done by previous owner (2nd owner). I have the service papers for this rebuild. The motor starts up and runs well. The body is in good condition. No rust that I know of on the body. The front end has lots of rock chip from highway driving over the years. Rooftop and mirrors are showing the paint damage by sun. The interior is in good shape as well. It has typical leather peeling off from the door cards due to glue losing its adhesive strength. The driver seat has the most wear of all seats in the car, but in good shape. Everything inside works except for the radio. The radio may be needing the code to work again. There are few modifications done to the M5;-UUC short shifter kit with double sheer rod for best feel betweens shifts-Transmission mounts upgraded-Koni Yellows Sport with lowering springs (removed SLS in the rear)-Rare MOMO steering wheel with hub adapter (SRS light is on because of steering wheel)-New Hankook tires -The A/C system has been converted to r134a system-Racing dynamic strut bar by Turner Motorsport The M5 has a rebuilt title which is the way the previous owner got the car. All four doors and the trunk lid are the original body parts based on VIN tags attached to each. There is no such tag could be found on the front hood, so this could be replacement panel. It is believed that the person previous owner bought the car from, who kept it for at least two years, wrote inflated repair estimate that allowed the first owner to total the car and collect insurance from the car.
