BMW : 2002 2002 1968 bmw 2002 shell with m 10 engine e 12 head straight body limited rust

I have a 1968 BMW 2002 that has a very straight body; it had the bottom rear window metal removed and a piece of front window metal; is minus the trunk lid and most of interior, bumpers and trim. The hood has some rust. The engine has been removed but it comes with a 2.0L long block with E12 head. 4-speed transmission and drive train along with exhaust is still on car. It has some E21 turbine wheels and is located in San Diego CA. I purchased it along with a 1971 2002 that I will be restoring and was thinking about using as a donor car but this is way too clean and was hoping someone would be interested in putting back on the road. Car has a clean title from New Mexico. Car is for sale locally so auction can end at any time.

I believe the color to be Verona (Red) as you can see on hood and trunk lid. Paint is faded so I thought it was Inka Orange for a while. I purchased the car a few months ago and had transported from Washington State to California. I always loved these cars and I felt is was a great deal; especially with the 5-speed. I am selling because my ever patient wife was already not very happy with me because I am up to 6 cars; 2 that are still in restoration stages (1973 Opel GT and 1965 VW Bug). Let's just say this cars arrival didn't go over very well. I paid $2700 for the car and $650 to transport so I am losing money at this price but I think it is very fair and I really want to have the car in someones garage soon! I was in the process of a restoration of my 1974TII and have now decided I purchased a 1973TII that I could use as a driver. I just don't have it in me nor the time to go through another vehicle restoration. Here is some info about the car; Original color is Siennabraun metallicThe car spent most of its life in Hermosa Beach, and has rust on front windshield and rear window frames all the way through.Passenger side floorpan has been replaced and the rear floor pans will need to be replacedRear shock towers look good, in fact, the trunk and rear were about the best panels in the car.The rear speaker parcel and been completely cut out and a piece of sheetmetal riveted in.Rear quarter panels, hood, roof, and rockers all have significant rust and will need to be replaced. All that said, there are some nice surprises; like it has a 5-speed conversion, a sunroof that opens and closes and while the odometer states it has 56,000 miles according to the past owner it does have around 112k. I was able to track down the previous owner in Hermosa Beach, he purchased the car from the Original Owner in 1975 with 7,000 miles on it and has had it ever since. He has all the records and the original title (I was handed a duplicate.) super nice guy. He has not found everything yet but keeps in contact and keeps saying he promises he will find. Car had been sitting for 5 years, so the front brakes were a little tight and the gas tank was horrid. I yanked it out and threw it away; you will need to find another tank. The engine does turn over but honestly with all the rust that was in the tank, my plan was to replace the fuel pump, filter and clean injectors before starting. Car is located in Spring Valley CA at my body shop which is very reasonable and he is an excellent "metal sculptor" as I call him. If you wanted to have him do the metal repairs and paint I would recommend him. The interior and exterior parts including glass are all out of the car; door panels and rear bench seats were junk and trashed. I just traded the recaro seats (badly needed upholstery for original front seats that would come with the car. I am not looking to make any money, just want to see it get restored not junked. I could part it out and sell the suspension, engine, 5-speed conversion and make my money back but that would be horrible. Car will come with all original parts removed except for anything that disintegrated upon removal. Most items are labeled and boxed and were disassembled with care. OPTION - The available donor car (additional $750) is very clean and comes with a clean CA title on Non-op. The Alpina looking wheels were removed but the rest of the car has all of the necessary panels to repair the TII. Basically once you are done taking the parts for the TII you can sell the trunk lid, left fender, steering gears, e-brake assembly and front shock spindles and make you money back.
