Arctic silver manual 97 BMW M3 sedan. Bought this car complete and running as my project and got halfway through when my landlord told me I could no longer keep it at my house so unfortunately I have to pass it on to a new home. A ton of potential in this build, very sad to let her go. This car is R titled but has had a well maintained '98 s52 motor with 120k swapped into it by Bimmer Buddies in Middleton, PA. Right now it is stripped down for paint but has every part needed to put back together. Motor has a fully rebuilt head and brand new head gasket kit. I have not even had the chance to start the motor since the rebuild because it had to be moved to a storage unit as soon as I got the motor back together. Motor turns over smoothly and is timed correctly, just needs new fluids and some small things before startup. This is a 2001 540I sport package. The sport package basically means a better suspension, 18 inch lightweight alloy wheels, sport mode/steptronic manual shifting and the bigger 4.4L V8 motor ( 0-60 5.5 sec ). In my opinion this is one of the better BMW's ever built. It really achieves the perfect balance between a drivers car and a luxury car. The car has a clean title and is in excellent condition. I was hit by a motorcyclist a few years back who wasn't paying attention and ran into the back of me. There was minor damage to the rear bumper which we replaced and painted. There are a few minor scratches that are barley noticeable as well. My family and I purchased the car a few years back, as the second owners, at 85,000 miles. We have put over $8,000 in the car in necessary maintenance, for all the things that one would expect to happen on a 540i at 80,000 + miles. It has had its cooling system issues taken care of, ( a common problem on these cars ), its belts done, the timing chain, brakes, thermostat assembly & water pump replaced, spark plugs & cylinder head gaskets replaced, left engine mount replaced, a faulty ABS module replaced and it has a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. Oil changes have been done every 3,000 miles as well & it has been garage kept its whole life ( us and the previous owners ). We are selling the car because we are in the market for something new. We have owned BMW's for years and I can guarantee this is one of the best, if not the best, 540i's on the market currently in this mileage range.
