1998 BMW 740il I recently purchased this vehicle as a back up to my Porsche 928S currently under restoration. Shortly after the purchase I heard the clanking noise from the right side of the engine and it was diagnosed with the timing chain tensioner need for replacement. I started the replacement process and completed half the procedure for replacement but as I am short on time completing the final phase of restoration on my Porsche 928S I decided to sell it as is. I estimate the repairs at this stage to be about $500.00 parts and labor included. The rest of the car is in great shape with a complete recent tune up and new low profile tires on 19 inch rims. In addition there are two monitors installed in both front head rests for rear passenger viewing. Also there are two dings in the rear trunk (see photos). The car is sold in AS IS condition with no return.
