RELISTED BECAUSE OF NON PAYING BIDDER! Reluctant sale of the best car i have ever owned. I bought this Arizona coupe almost new, original purchaser was a sports star who stored it more then drove it. I owned it for years before selling to another enthusiast. It has always been maintained better then the book, oil changed every 3000 miles with Mobil 1, washed & waxed with Liquid Glass weekly, garage kept, etc. After I repurchased it, I replaced all wear items, suspension, lifetime driveshaft with grease-able U joints, radiator, performance plug wires, cap, rotor, plugs, battery, & heater core. All fluids were changed, A/C recharged with Envior Safe refrigerant. Car runs & drives like it did when I first bought it in the 80's, everything works, windows, sunroof, power door locks, cruise control & trip computer. The radio was upgraded in the 90's with a Alpine unit, still works, but volume control is a little scratchy, original radio included, worked well when removed. Included are all owners manuals, full tool kit in trunk, working flashlight in glove box, box full of spare filters, spare bead blasted valve cover, valve cover gasket, & shop manual. This is a very original unmolested adult owned car, reliable enough to be a daily driver, fun weekend/car show vehicle, and appreciating classic. This is a sport package car which includes 5 speed Getrag 265 trans, best one and only used in 1985) post rear end, sport steering wheel, Recaro power sport seats, etc. It is a rust free Arizona car, clean undercarriage and good chrome, no dash cracks! Recent upgrades include M3 posi rear end (original included, pinion bearing starting to make noise) 16" chromed BMW wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sport tires, new OEM leather front seat covers by World Upholstery. New Lloyds floor mats with 635 embroidery. Overall, a very well maintained, adult owned car, always babied, driven gently as a weekend cruiser. This is a 30 year old car so no, it's not new and has signs of use. Not perfect, needs the window & sunroof switches cleaned, they work, but need jiggling if the car sits for a long time. One of the exhaust pipes cracked under the shielding when the trans was resealed, but not loud, I only notice when the windows are down & next to a wall. The trans was resealed in 2008, but I noticed some seepage from the seal this week, does not leave anything on the garage floor. A/C works as well as it always did, and the fan switch still has the variable feature working, but 80's German cars were not noted for great A/C. This car still runs & drives like it did back in the 80's and still averages 22 mpg, same as it did new. I really don't want to part with this car especially with it's history, but I'm getting too old to enjoy it as I once did so hoping it will go to a proper enthusiast who will appreciate the wonderful classic. So fear not, I don't bite, make a reasonable offer!
