We have for sale a 1999 BMW 540i with Sports Package with 177k miles on the odometer.This has been my daily driver for the past 6 months and I still drive it daily. The car does have transmission issues but it still runs and drives very well. Please read description below for specifics. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you a first-hand opinion of how each unit runs and drives. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of our knowledge and ability. I make every effort to disclose known mechanical/cosmetic defects. Please take the time to read the entire description, terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. Most of the questions I get have already been answered within the following description. The car has not been inspected by a qualified mechanic and may have defects that were not apparent during the test drive(s).Vehicle Condition Report Component Condition Defects ENGINE Fully functional engine. Starts and idles smoothly. Runs well at all speeds. I have driven this car at speeds up to 135mph and the car performs well. The engine does emit a puff of smoke when started in the morning but nothing thereafter. From my experience with BMW 4.4 v8 engines. I would say it will need a new crankcase ventilation valve in the near future. TRANSMISSION Automatic transmission works but needs attention. The transmission will shift badly or slip if you accelerate hard in low gears. The reverse gear is weak and the car cannot be reversed up any appreciable incline. A gentle foot when accelerating ensures a smooth shift. I have been driving the car in this state for the past 6 months. My intention was to drive the car until the transmission packs up completely but it continues to function up till now. The car will accelerate to 130+ mph smoothly if you don’t floor the gas pedal. EXTERIOR Above average exterior. Few scratches and dings as expected in a used car. Small dent on hood. Paint chips on hood. Please look at pictures in detail INTERIOR Average wear and tear. Both driver and passenger side front seat leather are slightly worn. Please look at pictures in detail. ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS All installed electrical components tested and work ok. This includes A/C, heater, power windows, power seats, cruise control, sun roof, radio etc. Airbag light is on BRAKES & TIRES 4 matching Michelin Pilot tires that have 30% tread left. However, they are cracked due to age. I was going to replace them but they still drive nice and smooth and have not failed in the 6 months I’ve driven the car. Brakes have not been checked for wear but work well at this time. 2 front wheels have dents but still run smooth KEYS 1 Keys/remote combo TITLE The car has a clear GA title ready to go. EMISSIONS The car has current GA emissions good for another 6 months SUMMARY Nice powerful BMW that’s needs some work to bring it up to spec.
