The 4C combines two excellences; the Alfa Romeo engineering and Maserati manufacturing. The chassis includes a tray made out of carbon fiber in which a space has been formed for the seats. By utilizing aluminum for the rear structure and crash boxes, the 4C experiences a significant reduction in weight and optimizes of the center of gravity. Inspired by the style of the 8C, the 4C Concept reflects the layout onto it's athletic body: strong, wide cross sections at the rear, and in the front, two long shapes over the front suspension wheels like muscles rising off of the front wings. It all comes together in a V on the front hood-accentuating the Alfa Romeo grille in front, all of it centered around the Alfa Romeo badge. The suspension layout is extremely sophisticated to ensure optimum agility and road-holding: high double-wishbone at the front, and a McPherson layout at the rear. The new, direct injection, 237hp, 1750 turbocharged I4 engine, brings extraordinary performance with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft of torque - 80% of which is available at 1700 rpm. It puts the accent on smooth running in all situations, on city streets and racing tracks alike. The new Alfa D.N.A. selector has three core settings (Dynamic, Natural and All Weather) for adapting the car to the road conditions and the current driving style.
