The car is very correct and original, and is currently registered in CT. The car was originally sold to NSU in Werk, Germany on December 2, 1959. the car is in excellent mechanical condition, and is in excellent “driver quality” condition. She would make an excellent candidate for a full restoration or, she could just be maintained and driven just as she is. The body is very straight, and the red paint looks good. All of the exterior trim and bright-work is original and in nice condition. If the car has a weak point, it would be in the RED paint; though shiny and nice, there is checking on almost every panel. The interior has an excellent patina, with her correct original black sport seats, and red carpets in a condition befitting her age. The engine is the venerable 1290cc 4-cylinder Alfa motor, built to correct original specification. She still retains her original single Solex Carburettor setup. The engine is very well sorted, and puts out good power and torque. The underside is excellent, as new floors were just installed. The exhaust system is in excellent condition The car has her correct 4-wheel finned Aluminum drum brakes, the linings are new, as are the hydraulics; the car stops with authority. The 5-speed transmission shifts well, the clutch is new. Her steel wheels are shod with new Khumo radial tires. The car is mechanically excellent and is a blast to drive!!! She corners well, brakes as she should and the suspension and steering offers great feedback and control. The epitome of late 50’s sports car experience. Vin 3024935 The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this gorgeous 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV. The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV was introduced in 1971, exclusively in Europe. These cars would not appear in the U.S. market until 1972. The reason for the late arrival was emissions, but Alfa Romeo was able to meet emission requirements by using SPICA fuel injection. The GTV was sold in America until 1974 when regulations for bumpers and emissions were stiffened yet again; but in Europe, it was sold until 1977. This is a very special GTV. The car is very original, and benefits from a recent repaint and mechanical refresh in 2008. The RED repaint is excellent, and the black leather interior looks amazing with a mild patina, the front seats have clearly been recovered. The Alfa is rolling on Cromodora wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. Under the bonnet is her original 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with the Spica fuel injection system. The engine is well sorted, and runs well. She benefits from an MSD ignition system. The 5 speed transmission is excellent and the car runs and drives just as she should. The total mileage indicated on its odometer is only 77,450 and given the condition of the undercarriage, the spare tire well, and the way it runs and drives, there is no reason to doubt this mileage. It runs and drives beautifully! The car was gone through by Alfa Marque specialist Alfas Unlimited. The 2 Liter 4- cylinder engine has great power and torque and the transmission shifts well; the synchros are excellent and she shifts precisely and smoothly. The brakes are strong and smooth and the car stops straight. Steering is excellent, tight and direct. These cars are very well balanced and a lot of fun…the definition of a pure sports car. Special car!!! Vin 3024935 The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this gorgeous 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV. The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV was introduced in 1971, exclusively in Europe. These cars would not appear in the U.S. market until 1972. The reason for the late arrival was emissions, but Alfa Romeo was able to meet emission requirements by using SPICA fuel injection. The GTV was sold in America until 1974 when regulations for bumpers and emissions were stiffened yet again; but in Europe, it was sold until 1977. This is a very special GTV. The car is very original, and benefits from a recent repaint and mechanical refresh in 2008. The RED repaint is excellent, and the black leather interior looks amazing with a mild patina, the front seats have clearly been recovered. The Alfa is rolling on Cromodora wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. Under the bonnet is her original 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with the Spica fuel injection system. The engine is well sorted, and runs well. She benefits from an MSD ignition system. The 5 speed transmission is excellent and the car runs and drives just as she should. The total mileage indicated on its odometer is only 77,450 and given the condition of the undercarriage, the spare tire well, and the way it runs and drives, there is no reason to doubt this mileage. It runs and drives beautifully! The car was gone through by Alfa Marque specialist Alfas Unlimited. The 2 Liter 4- cylinder engine has great power and torque and the transmission shifts well; the synchros are excellent and she shifts precisely and smoothly. The brakes are strong and smooth and the car stops straight. Steering is excellent, tight and direct. These cars are very well balanced and a lot of fun…the definition of a pure sports car.
