If you own this Chevelle SS, you want to drive it; if you get passed by this Chevelle, you want to own it. That's the desirability of the sought-after Tuxedo Black paint that highlights the exceptionally straight body. Plus, the black vinyl roof was a great way to show off you had some extra cash to splash around. White SS stripes on a functional cowl induction hood, and the hood pins, are a big part of the appeal of the Super Sport model. But this one goes much further to get the details right like the blacked-out grille, all the correct badging, and the correct SS wheels. Nice chrome bumpers and polished stainless fender trim help complete a package that looks ready for a weekend's worth of cruising.
The black bucket seat interior has the same desirable mean and clean attitude as the exterior. The carpets, door panels, headliner, and seats have all been looked over in this one, and anything that didn't feel factory fresh was replaced. The result is a great place to spend some time. You hop in and your right hand is instantly attracted to the iconic horseshoe shifter in the center console. The correct full round gauge set includes a tach, and just below the dash is an auxiliary gauge for oil pressure. The upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo system has features like big speakers and a digital tuner, but its knob-style setup looks period-correct for the dash housing. But what really puts this over the top as the overall best anytime cruiser is the air conditioning.
