This 25 old car has been my personal daily driver car for the last 8 years and I have driven some 100,000 miles with it. I have moved on to a different car and have no space to keep this around. It is currently registered and inspected. It starts up thanks to a new battery, and runs and stops in a way that I feel comfortable to drive it locally. Being a high mileage car it will require ongoing TLC to be kept on the road. The car still presents nicely and gets attention when driven around. This would be an excellent candidate for a Chevy V8 conversion, for a partial restoration, or just drive locally as is. The body is in in good condition with only some minor rust starting to develop in a few spots that can be fixed easily and inexpensively. The car was regularly maintained to be a reliable driver. I had the rear differential rebuilt within my first year of ownership. The transmission was professionally rebuilt about 20k miles ago, the windshield was replaced some 10k miles ago and the radiator was professionally re-cored. The engine runs cool at any outside temperature. The oil pressure gauge is not working but despite the high mileage the engine is still running smoothly with modest oil consumption. The exhaust system has some leaks and will require attention. The paint is fading, the chrome is good, the rims are original and the tires will need to be replaced in the near future. The original ABS system was deactivated some 5 years ago as it was working unreliably and no parts were available then. It didn't ever bother me while driving thousands of miles with the car but wanted to disclose here. The AC isn't working and neither is the cruise control. The windshield seal wasn't properly set when the windshield was replaced and needs replacement if you want to drive in the rain. The interior is worn, the driver's seat has rips and tears in the leather. There are other signs of use and little things that could use some attention sooner or later. This stunning 1991 Jaguar XJS Classic Collection Roadster is finished in Oyster Metallic over Doeskin Connolly leather and is in stunning original condition. The car sold new at Jaguar of Darien CT and then one year later moved to Scottsdale AZ where the car has been ever since new. The car has had 2 3 owners its entire life and serviced at Scottsdale Jaguar and then most recently the last few years at British Automotive in Scottsdale. There is an enormous service file on the car dating back to new including the original owners manuals and service books with dealer stampings. The Oyster Metallic paint is all completely original and in stunning condition. There is absolutely no rust or damage anywhere on the car. The original Connolly leather interior is beautiful showing only minimal wear and creasing to the driver seat. The original top is in excellent condition free from any damage or tears. This model is the last of the pre-facelift cars, meaning that it retains the round USA-spec headlights (2 per side) and the individual taillights. These are also the last year of the two-seater convertibles. These cars have the 5.3 liter High Efficiency V-12 engine and a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. The interior of the Classic Collection cars feature burl elm dashboards and trim and specially trimmed leather seats with contrasting piping. This particular car is equipped with the dealer optional Dayton wire wheels. I have owned this car for over 15 years and have maintained it the entire time I have owned it. This is evidenced by the extensive maintenance records that go with the car. I have also made updates to improve the performance and handling of the car. The handling updates do not change the appearance of the car, but they do change the GT car’s inherent “land-yacht” ride to a more sports car-like ride. If you are new to the world of the XJ-S, you might enjoy reviewing the Jaguar Club of North America website. This site has online articles that outline steps recommended to improve the performance of your XJ-S. Here are the updates: INTAKEK&N air filters installed in place of the paper element filters. This car is a 25-year old nice driver quality car. (Car was manufactured in November 1990.) It has some small dings and scratches from being driven and used, but it is still one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. Some of the paint has been scratched off of the edge of the drivers door ( shown in photo). The speed control is currently not working, but everything else does. The top goes up and down with no issues. The headliner is dirty because the previous owner (literally a little old lady from Texas) didn’t use the boot. As you can see in the photos, the boot is included as is it’s carrying case. There is a small crack in the windshield that has been there since I purchased the car 15 years ago. It does not go through to the back glass. As pictured, one of the wheels has been dented (by the previous owner.) It has not prevented me from enjoying the car for the past 15 years. The wheels are properly sealed and do not leak air. There are some surface cracks in the center console wood as you might expect from a 25-year old car. The original spec Pirelli P600 tires are mounted on the wheels. They have about 1,000 or fewer miles on them and look great. The spare tire has a factory Honeycomb-style wheel and the same tire I bought with the car in 2000. Car has Lojack installed. The original owner’s manual is in the glove box. A Jaguar Cars Inc. XJ-S Electrical Guide ring bound notebook is included. This car is consistently stored in my garage (next to my wife’s MGBGT.) This car is still being driven short distances. This Beautiful Convertible came out of the most prestigious areas of the Pittsburgh area, Sewickley Pa. It of course was garaged and treated with great care. I have sold scores of Jaguars in almost all their configurations. I know what to look for when buying an old Jag. When I looked this one over, I knew I had to own it. First, the body is SUPERIOR QUALITY! No paint work. Very few blemishes. Glowing paint and chrome. LASER STRAIGHT. The sun never damaged this Beauty. The interior is also excellent. Only some dye wearing off the driver's seat right where you rub on the seat bolster when you get in. An automotive detail shop will be able to touch up the seat edge if it bothers you. The wood, carpet, panels, rear storage, convertible boot and top are all in excellent condition. Only a few short hairline marks in the console wood near the rear to keep it from being flawless. There is a little plastic trim piece around the cruise control switch that needs replaced from being cracked. Sold here on ebay for about 40 bucks. The undercarriage had a wonderful job of rustproofing when it was new and has kept the body from rust. This is the body you want in a collector investment vehicle. I drove her to a cruise in Saturday night with the top down. I was a proud owner when I entered the show. How could I not be. This "Champagne" color is just gorgeous. They call the color Oyster, but I think Champagne describes the color more accurately. The Creamy, Ivory interior goes perfectly with this combo. So does the chocolate boot and top. The top goes down perfectly as do all four windows. She hits the road smoothly. Ran smoothly and shifted smoothly. That has always been my favorite way to describe what a Jag is all about. THEY ARE SMOOTH FOR SURE! Of course there are no flawless 25 year old cars, but as old Jaguars go, this is surely one of superior quality. I can not make these Ebay cars like new and still sell them at rock bottom pricing. So as always, I tell you everything I found that is not up to speed and let you decide how much preservation you want to do. There may be a vaccuum leak that is keeping the air conditioning from working properly. I say that because the cruise control is not working and I have seen a small vaccuum leak disable both systems. The fan does work. The engine bay is completely original, so a proper cleaning would be in order if you want to show the engine off. No restoration, just some cleaning. The state inspection ran out. It has been driven only about 300 miles to keep it stretched out since it was last inspected 3 years ago.The tires are excellent. She drives straight and vibration free. There is the normal road rash way under the body behind the tires. Nothing ignorant, but I would have some mudflaps installed to protect the area. The oil pressure gauge works, then it doesn't. A loose ground wire on the oil sending unit could be the answer. The gauges all read in the normal range. All in all, it would be hard to find a better old Jaguar ANYWHERE. This one will make you money when you are done and you will be a very proud owner along the way. I just looked this car up in the Hagerty Classic Car Insurance Value Guide. It shows the "average" XJS Convertible is selling for almost $15,000 dollars with upward movement in appreciation. Don't hesitate. Hit the buy now or make me a serious offer. This car had some major engine problems in the past (specifically the top cam tower seals were shot, its many thousands$$$ to repair and on older jags most people fold) and the car was deemed "unrepairable" by a previous owner and he/she filed on their insurance. The car has NEVER been in an accident of any kind. The first thing I did was have the entire top cam section of the V12 repaired and resealed. You can see on the vehicle history how this played out, but it still flags the title. Hence why she is not $9000-$10k on the price…which is about what I spent to get the motor badass again. For sale is a gorgeous, healthy and rare 91 Jag XJS 5.3 litre V12 convertible with only 71k ORIGINAL miles. I've owned this car for about three years and meticulously got her in tip top shape. This Jaguar hasn't been to the doctor in over 18 months. The electrical system is perfect with zero issues. The powerful engine has one minor oil leak, for its age this is an amazing thing. All major leaks in its life I have had repaired. The car runs and drives great. Its been my favorite car by far. However I own three vehicles and a new job no longer allow this luxury financially so the toys have to go. Has an alpine CD changer/Cassette system. The leather is in decent shape, driver side is naturally worn as leather does over time. Called "Fastest XJS I've driven in years" by my mechanic, a master technician on Jaguars. The top has ZERO tears or wear, but has one sewn spot that the previous owner had fixed. It manually folds down, the hydraulic motor works but I have never looked into why its not connected to the top. The A/C needs freon. I just drop the top. No rust on the bottom of the car, paint is in great shape for its age. THIS IS WHAT I DID ON PURCHASE OF THE CAR: tires. Inside of driver door rebuilt. New cross braces on front end. New struts. New shocks. New Idle control valve. New auxiliary air valve. New hood latch. New hood strut. New heater hoses. New heater valve. New cam plug. Cam towers REMOVED AND RESEALED. New crankshaft seals. New front crank seals. New Brake accumulator. New headlights. New ignition wires. New spark plugs. New Timing chain tensioner. New water pump gasket. New engine cover gasket. New seal rings. New timing cover gasket. New valve cover gaskets. New oil pressure switch. New Fan switch seal. New breather hose. New flame trap. New Fuel level sender and gasket. After making all of these repairs in 2 sittings, the car has never had to go back into the shop except for normal things like brakes. I have all the paperwork for these repairs as well. She's beautiful and ready to go.

A simple yet tasteful, gold painted/engine-turned pinstripe adorns the flanks giving a sharp contrast along the side body-line. No tacked-on aftermarket body-strips or ding-trims as found on other Jags of this vintage. The only other non-original accessory on this car is the battery tender/trickle charger in the trunk… connected to a brand-new battery. Everything else is original Jaguar equipment. Original cross-hatch, BBS-like 15” factory alloy wheels in perfect condition on Eagle GT II tires. All papers, cards, booklets and original accessories included. Original VIN stickers and identification tags still adorn this car. The owners picked-up this car new, right-off the showroom floor in Montclair, NJ back in 1991. This car is a strong 2, but can easily be brought-up to a 1 on the classic car condition grading scale. This car needs to be concours detailed and be driven more to be sorted-out to become a certain show winner on any circuit. The surfaces are still fresh. The only flaws I could find are due to age and the sun- there are a few hairline cracks in the lacquered wood center console trim; maybe a few creases here and there in the leather seats from being sat in… that’s it. If there’s a scratch or a mark, I haven’t seen it or it’s hardly noticeable or even warrants mention for a car this age. Overall the car feels clean, crisp, complete and like-new.
