The 2011 XJ is a sleek, spacious, sophisticated luxury car with dramatic lines that lend themselves to those normally reserved for sports coupes. The car comes in four different models--the XJ, the Supercharged and the Supersport, all of which are available in either standard or long wheelbases. Power across the range is derived from an advanced 5.0-liter V8 with dual independent variable cam timing. In the XJ, it produces 385 hp and 380 ft-lb of torque. The supercharged version features twin air intakes, variable inlet cam timing and the latest Eaton supercharger. The 470-hp version found in the Supercharged XJ will propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds according to Jaguar, while the 510-hp iteration available in the top-line Supersport will do the sprint in just 4.7 seconds. Power in all XJ models is put to the rear wheels through an electronic 6-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar's sequential shift which adapts to driving styles and shifts at optimum engine speeds. Gears can also be shifted manually using steering wheel-mounted paddles.If power is available in spades in the new XJ, so too is refinement. Depending on the model, owners can specify up to eleven interior colors and ten elegant veneers to taste, and for leather surfaces, there are eight different colors and three grades. Attractive phosphor blue lines of light illuminate the cabin at night and a handsome analog clock with a spun-metal face sits prominently in the center of the dash.Interior amenities include Jag's Smart Key System, with keyless entry and start. This car has every comfort option, REAL leather, a/c heat seats, MASSAGE front seats, upgraded stereo, automatic rear window sunscreen, rear side window sunscreens, felt headliner, rear seat picnic tables, sports mode, navigation, and too many other options to list. On the sporty side, this car has a 470 Horsepower supercharged v8, 32 valve DOHC engine. The reason why the 2011 Jaguar is the best is because it is the newest version with the supercharged V8. If you get a newer model they supercharge a V6, and it will put you to sleep when compared to the 470 hp option. This model has an extra 5 inches in the back seat, as well as a/c and heat, so the passengers can ride like they are in the back of a limo. This fully loaded car was $125k brand new. Don't buy new and pay for all the depreciation, get it for one third the cost of new! I just put on new brakes and high performance tires all around at the San Diego Jaguar Dealer! All in all, I challenge you to find a better all around car; I tried. Compared to a 7 series BMW, S Class Mercedes, it beats them all. The only next step up is a Bentley or Rolls Royce.
