1969 Mach One. Original R code 428 cobra jet car. Motor is a date coded correct 69 block, with correct cobra jet heads, intake, and exhaust manifolds and other correct internal components such as 1U cobra jet crank and rods. Correct replacement C9AF-9510 U carburetor was recently rebuilt. Motor and C-6 transmission have undergone complete extensive and costly rebuild. All other engine components such as water pump, alternator, belts hoses, radiator are new within the last three hundred miles. The gell cell battery is one year old. New factory style 2 1/4 aluminized exhaust was installed approximately four months ago. Scott drake rolled tip quad exhaust tips were used. Car has recently been restored with stunning correct factory candy apple paint, with black out hood treatment. Many new parts including complete new interior including upholstery, head liner, carpet, dash, door panels, woodgrain, trim, and restoration to all other interior components. Other new parts include: Wind shield, weather stripping (all),custom 69 style steel wheels that I ordered in 15x8 for the rear and 15x7 for front. I wanted a stock look but a wheel size that would accommodate a larger tire. New radial T/A tires are 255/60/15 in rear 245/60/15 in front. The car has been lowered one inch front and rear and as you can see in the pictures has a nice low stance. The rear axle has been rebuilt within the last 200 miles. A new traction loc 3.50 differential, gears, pinion, and all bearings are new. Axle was set up so the pinion u-joint can be removed without messing up the clearances on the pinion gear. Rear springs, shocks, bushings are all new. Nearly all of the components of this car were replaced or restored over the last five years with the exception of the front steering and suspension. the imperfections: The front steering is a little sloppy. the steering box was rebuilt a few years ago, and I am including a complete front end rebuild kit including all tie rod ends, A-arms, bushings ball joints etc. I purchased this kit just a few months ago anticipating a front end rebuild but this will now go with the car. The stock oil pressure and temp gauges are not connected. I wanted a reliable set of oil and temp gauges when I fired the new motor so I installed a set Auto Meter Pro Comp aircraft style that look nice too. Auto trans shifter is a little sloppy, just needs some linkage work. The left front tire rubs the valance slightly when backing up and turning. I hadn't decided yet to go with 235 size tires to fix this or have the valance modified. Car comes with touch up paint from the original batch. There are a couple of faint scratches, one on the front left fender, and one on the left rear quarter. Not really noticeable and probably easily repaired. I had no plans to do anything with them as they are not very noticeable. The Mach One stripes only go back to the rear wheel wells. This is a look that I preferred and didn't have the set added behind the wheels. However I do have them from the original set and they go with the car. The car has spent no time outside and these will still match perfectly when the new owner decides to have them installed. Original working radio with new reproduction Scott Drake knob set is included but not installed. Trunk weather seal is new but needs to be installed, Door edge weather seals are new but need to be installed. (I prefer the car with out them as the doors shut nicely this way) All gauges, speedo, lights blinkers, flashers, etc work. The list of new items and work done to this car is difficult to remember. There is not much on this car that hasn't been replaced or restored within the last three hundred miles. For the buy it now price, (and only the buy it now price) I will include brand new correct reproduction rear window louvers, brand new reproduction front and rear spoilers, Brand new reproduction 15x8 and 15x7 magnum 500 wheel kit that includes correct chrome lug nuts and pony caps. This way you can have the full spoiled and louvered look if you like. Marti Report shows this car to have been delivered with 428 4V cobra jet ram air, C-6 cruise o matic, 350 standard axle, f 70 raised white letter tires, AM radio, Tinted Glass. It has the deluxe interior with wood grain and I think this was standard in a 69 Mach One. Sold at Dusty Rhodes Ford, in Elizabeth-town Kentucky. I will post pictures of the interior when I get time, but it is pretty much all new. Picture of Marrti report to come as well Trades that may interest me: 67 fastback S code, restomod or niecely restored classic Bronco, 77 bronco project of any kind, 67 to 69 firebird 400 convertible. 69 GTO convertible, 64 impala SS convertible. There is much more to tell about this car I am sure. I have only recently decided to offer it for sale and may only be on Ebay for a short time. If you have questions please email or call 509-741-7584Thanks,

The Story Cars like this are getting harder and harder to come by. The days of finding them under carports, in someone’s garage, in the barn, etc are quickly evaporating. The cars that we knew “were always sitting there” one day are gone. We have been looking at them forever, meaning to stop and check to see if he/she was finally ready to sell have almost all been sold. They are still out there, like this one and it almost slipped away from me. I got a call a couple of months ago from a very good friend of mine, from my home town, who said he had the chance to purchase a 1966 Fastback Mustang. I said really, what color is it? He responded “black”. I said really? I said where it is sitting, it wouldn’t happen to be under a carport on “this” street would it?? He said yes. I said well I be dang. I can’t believe it. As a child we rode our bikes past this car, it had always been there, it was a fixture in our neighborhood growing up. It was never for sale, a woman owned it, who had gotten in it from her father 35 years ago, I believe he was the original owner. My friend purchased the car and after thinking about it, knowing he had other cars he wanted to concentrate on restoring he offered the car to me, because we had a history with the car. The car you see in these pictures of course is that car. An authentic, A-code 1966 GT Fastback Luxury addition, with from what the nice lady told us, 76k original miles. She had always kept the car in “running” order, but from years of sitting under the carport it needed some love, but it was all there, a true survivor. I have not restored this car. I have polished and prepped it for someone who appreciates originality. It is NOT perfect, if you are expecting a fully restored car fresh off the rotisserie this is NOT it. On the flip side, it is very very nice. 98% of everything on the car works as it should, there are minor things that do not and I will be very forthcoming on what those are. Look the car over carefully and decide if you want to add this Mustang to your stable. Authentication Other than knowing about the car for more than ¾ of my life and know it is original I looked at the car and authenticated and documented all of the aspects of the car that make it an original GT. I will go over them here. All 1966 GT’s were and A or K code This car is an A code 4V 225HP 289 car In ’66 GT’s came manual or auto This car is a automatic Fog lights came standard and the Taillights come on when the fogs Are turned on, and the holes in the Radiator support are punched not drilled This is how they operate on this car, and they work, and the holes are punched There is a relay mounted on the Wiper motor for the fog lamps It is present on this car GT’s were equipped with Kelsey Hayes Disc brakes and a larger Master cylinder They are present on this car There was a sticker on the dash board Stating more than normal brake pressure Would need to be applied because it was Equipped with competition brakes The sticker is present and original and is on the dash pad Instead of the dash itself because this car was equipped with the “stereo sonic” 8 track deluxe stereo system GT’s came with gauges instead of idiot lights This car has that and was equipped with the luxury Interior option, with woodgrain trim GT car came with a quick ratio steering box This car came with power steering and has the correct HCC-AW box GT’s came with a special suspension Which included a larger sway bar This is present on this car GT’s came with factory dual exhaust, special Reinforcements under the rear seat, brake hose Relocated, and special bracing in the rear Frame rails All of these things are present on this car Trim tags and VIN numbers All of these match as they should The trim TAG reads 6F09A364030 63B R 66 27E 25 1 6 I decoded the trim tag on Scott Martins Mustang trim tag decoder and this is what I got 1966 Dearborn Fastback 289 4V 225 HP V8 2+2 Luxury Interior Ivy Green Black luxury 27 May 1966 Richmond 3.00-1 Dual range C4 automatic Body and Paint The body on the car is extremely nice as you can see in the pictures. The paint is very very slick and shiny. The paint is not perfect, it has a few chips, scratches and flaws, I would describe the car a “3” footer. It looks great, the flaws you will not see until you are on top of the car. You WILL be impressed by the way it looks and how straight the car is. The lady said the car had been painted Raven Black, which obviously it has many many years ago, because the original color was Ivy Green. When I got the car the paint was old, tired and faded. I went on the car with a vengeance with the idea if I sanded through the paint in a few areas, “ok” it would just add to the car’s patina, I could tell the painter was very generous with the application of paint many years ago. I wetsanded the car in 6 stages, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 and finally 3000 grit sand paper. I then buffed the car in 4 stages, extra cut compound, regular cut compound, machine glaze and then finally ultra fina final glazing compound and this is the result. It turned out spectacular. It took me 80 hrs and two weeks to achieve what you see here. The worst part of the paint is the roof, I took a picture of it, there is some spider webbing in the roof, it is hard to see in the pic with the reflection of the clouds and sky but it is there. There are a few places where I did actually cut through the paint, down low on the car where there was less paint. Make no mistake though, you will be proud to take this car to a show and it WILL stand out. All of the panels on the car are original. The car is 99% rust free, there are a couple of bubbles on the front lip of the hood, one small bubble on the lower passenger fender and one in front of the right rear tire. THEY ARE MINOR. Smaller than a pencil eraser, except on the hood, they are still super small, I would say eraser and a half. None of it is rust through and really hard to notice and you may not notice if I did not tell you about it. Because the car sat under a dirt floor carport the floors needed to be replaced. This being the case, they were done to the highest standards. I could not have mentioned it at all and you would not have noticed. They were seemed in flawlessly and appear to be as factory as the day she left the Dearborn plant. While under the car, we cleaned her up a bit, got the dirt and grime off the underside of car and in general making it look respectable. When you or anyone else looks under the car YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED. Having the interior out of the car I went one step further and applied a layer of FATMAT sound deadner to the floor to keep the heat out and the sound down. There is no rust, or ever has been any rust in the torque boxes, the rockers, drop offs, etc, the car is super super solid. Interior The interior in the car is very nice as you can see. It is a combination of original and new. It is not perfect but very nice. The car sat for years under the carport and the interior was moldy and musty and somewhat worn. I replaced the carpet in the sitting area, carpet in the rear is original, I chose to replace the seat covers and this is why. They were beaten by the sun and some were splitting at the seams. I struggled with this as I like originality but in the end I figured most people would rather have nice looking seats. The rest of the interior was cleaned thoroughly. The console is original. Since these picture were taken I have replaced the door panels with new ones from Scott Drake. The old ones were split by the door pulls/armrests. I have saved them for the new owner if you would like me to put them n the trunk for you. The dash pad is the original with no cracks and still wears the original brake sticker. All of the interior lights work, even the glove box light and so does the seat belt light and the shift indicator light. All of the gauges function properly and so does the heater, wipers and horn. The headliner could be replaced. It has a few punctures and tears but I chose to leave it. The car was equipped with a remote mirror, woodgrain trim and a special 8 track stereo. The stereo is in place but it does not work. All of the side glass is original and I believe the front glass has been replaced. Her father was a Mustang/Ford/Shelby enthusiast and you will notice the cobra in the center of the wheel and there are a couple of Shelby club plaques on the driver’s side sunvisor. In conclusion the interior is very nice, very striking looking when you look at it a combination of original and new. Drivetrain and Engine As you can see by the trim code the car came equipped with the “A” code 289, C4 automatic with a 3.00-1 non posi rear. After researching the engine I was surprised to find out it is NOT the original engine to the best of my knowledge. I removed the starter and looked at the numbers and it appears to be a 1968 289. The intake and all of the other trimmings seem to be original with the exception of the carberator. It had a holley 1850 600 cfm carb on it, which I removed and installed an almost new one because the old one did not run the best. It runs like a sewing machine now. The engine does not smoke and the transmission which I believe to be the original shift like it should and has the factory kickdown still attached and also functions properly. The rear is the original 8 inch with the factory tag still attached and is the 3.00-1 rear gear. We cleaned the grime off the engine bay and detailed it up a bit. I still have the original chrome open element air cleaner with the original decal still in place that will go with the car. The COBRA valve covers were installed by her father years ago and are present on the engine now, the originals did NOT come with the car. The exhaust system was rusty but intact and still had the original H pipe in place and I saved it if the new owner wants it. I decided to replace it with a new Scott Drake factory reproduction exhaust system, factory hanger kit and Scott Drake concourse stainless tip set. It sounds and looks very nice. The brakes operate like they should and so does the power steering. I rebuilt the power steering assist cylinder with new seals and clips and it does not leak. As a note to possible purchaser, I have located a date coded 1966 289, PERFECTLY matched engine for the car, it is disassembled, and for an additional cost can be packaged with the car. You would get, the block, heads, crank, pistons all matched, (predate the production of the car perfectly) so perfectly that you COULD claim they were original to the car. My research shows only the K code cars had the partial VIN stamped on the lower oil pan rail. This one does not have any VIN on it and it matches perfectly. Let me repeat it is NOT included with the car but can be purchased separately. ADDITIONAL PHOTOS I have over a 100 photos on Flickr and they are set to public view. I encourage you to look at all of the photos. If you go to Flickr and type in the search box hopkinsproshop my photos will come up and you can view them all. When you type in my profile name it will first say no matches, click on the people tab and it will appear. Not sure why they do it like this but that’s the way you have to do it. THANKS Summary This is a rare car. It is very nice and presentable and will be a hit anywhere you bring it. I have given you ALL of the information I have on the car to try and be as honest as I can about it. Many times you do not get any history on a car or information from the seller. I believe the more information I can give you the better for the both of us. I have represented the car to the BEST of my knowledge and encourage you to come and look at the car for yourself. If you have any questions about the car please ask them. I also have lots of pictures of the car I will try and list on a PHOTO BLOG so you can view them. If I cannot get that accomplished call me, I can get your email and take/send any photos I have of the car. My number is 804-240-6164. I have the car for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you are serious about the car CALL ME and we can discuss in further detail. Up for sale is a 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback. The car had some body work done some time ago and has been primed and ready for paint. There isn't much left to do to this 1969 Mustang to make it a daily driver. This car will need minor body work and a paint job to be brought back to original condition but as it is, it’s in good condition. It has a 351 Windsor engine with a Holley 4 Brl Carburetor, which does run and is bolted up to an FMX auto trans. If you text me i will send you a video of the engine working properly so you can have peace of mind. The transmission works great but has a broken shifter lever cable ( Approx. cost $14.00) and therefore will not shift from within the car. The mustang has a 9" rear end with a 28 spline and 3.73 gears., and all around drum brakes with new breaks, new shocks, and power steering. It has new Ultra 15x7 after market wheels all the way around that fit the car great and tires have a lot of tread left. The Mustang was originally purchased with the 14x6 Styled Steel wheels seen in the picture. All pressure gauges and speedometer work and the interior is in above average condition. Bucket and back seats are complete and in great condition. New Floor Carpeting is in good clean condition. New Headliner in good condition, no rips or tears. No cracks in any of the glass and has a New fuel tank. The Mustang is missing the driver side Quarter glass. What little rust it does have is at the bottom corners of the back window, behind the quarter extension on the right side, a little rust in lower quarters and trunk drops and in the door post area, but this is very common with these types of cars. Feel free to ask questions. Please look at all of the pictures and text me if you have any questions Please ask ahead of time and only serious buyers and inquires. This Mustang is being sold As Is with no guarantee. The mustang has a clear Texas title. Buyer is responsible for pickup and is Priced for Quick Sale at $11800.00 with aftermarket wheels or $11000.00 with original wheels. CASH, CASH, and only CASH, or send me an reasonable offer. I'm selling the Mustang for what I originally purchased it. Remember, this car is 46 years old and to have a few minor flaws is really remarkable for this age. Any question can be texted at 210-825-0249. Thank you for looking.

Drive this two owner, Montana car across the country the way it is. My family has enjoyed driving this Mustang for hundreds of miles last weekend, in and out of town. This car has been garaged most of it's life as evidenced by the excellent dash with no cracks although has some normal interior wear, ie front drivers upper seat. There is a set of factory correct new front seat covers in the trunk if you prefer. The blinkers, emergency flashers, bright and dim head lights all work. This car won second prize at the 2009 International Mustang meet for the modified class with it's exterior Ferrari red paint. This car has been well maintained during it's life with no accidents or rust on the body. It can be your daily driver.
